Ron Boschma
Ron Boschma is full professor in Regional Economics at Utrecht University, and Adjunct Professor at UiS Business School of Stavanger University. Boschma has been full professor in Innovation Studies at Lund University where he was also director of the Centre for Innovation, Research and Competence in the Learning Economy (CIRCLE). He is member of the Executive Board of the International Regional Studies Association since 2015. Boschma has published on Evolutionary Economic Geography, geography of innovation, regional resilience, regional diversification, and Smart Specialization policy. Boschma has been ranked every year since 2014 by Thomson Reuters among the top 1% of cited researchers worldwide in all scientific fields. In 2024, he received the prestigious Vautrin Lud prize for his scientific achievements which is considered the ‘Nobel of Geography’, the highest award in the field of geography.
Deyu Li
Deyu Li is an Assistant Professor in Geography of Digital Transitions at the Department of Human Geography and Spatial Planning. He is also an affiliated Research Fellow at the University of Cambridge Centre for Enviroment, Energy and Natural Resources Governance. Deyu obtained his PhD in Innovation Studies at the Copernicus Institute of Sustainable Development of Utrecht University in 2020. He is interested in applying an interdisciplinary approach and mixed methods to understand the geography of complex social-technical transitions.
Benjamin Cornejo-Costas
Benjamin Cornejo-Costas is a Post-Doc Researcher at the Economic Geography Section in Utrecht University, the Netherlands. Benjamin obtained his PhD in Economic Geography in the same Department at Utrecht University, as part of the POLISS project, a Horizon 2020 financed project. He holds a master's degree in Science and Technology Policy at SPRU, University of Sussex in the UK, and a master's in Public Policy and Administration at Universidad de San Andrés in Buenos Aires, Argentina. His research includes topics related to green diversification, twin transition, and migration and innovation. He is part of the SPRINT network, an RSA network aimed at connecting research and researchers on regional innovations, sustainability and transitions.Before joining academia, I had several years of experience working in the public sector and international organisations.
